JOB SUMMARY:

This position is located at : Gaffney Fitness Center, Fort Meade, Maryland.

The FMWRC mission is to create and maintain "FIRST CHOICE" MWR products and services for America's Army, essential to a ready, self-reliant force.

Gaffney Fitness Center provides state of the art cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and strength machines to meet patrons workout needs. Additional facilities include racquetball courts, saunas, an aerobics room, a combatives room, a 25 meter pool, and a spin room. Group fitness classes and personal training are also available.

Work schedule: This is a Regular Full Time position, applicants must be able to work days, evenings, weekends & holidays as required. Applicants must be able to work both indoors and outdoors.

The pay for this position will be set at step 01 of the grade ($10.09 PH). Applicants with previous NAF service may be eligible for a higher hourly rate upon verification of prior service and previous rate.

    2. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends & holidays as required.
    3. Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors.
    4. Possess and have the ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
    5. Physical requirement: requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds. Required to stand, walk, bend and kneel for lengthy periods of time.
    6. Successful completion of a health assessment is required.

    Prior work experience that provided the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties described above.

    SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE: Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects. Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edges and trimmers, scrubbers and buffers, steam cleaners and vacuums). A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for power equipment.
