Possession of, or the ability to rapidly acquire, a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued from the jurisdiction of residence.
Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required. The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of this position either with or without reasonable accommodations.
The Digital Video Coordinator is responsible for the daily review of all video footage recorded images on WMATA buses for civil liability and other administrative matters that have to be recovered by BTRA personnel, or any other element of the Authority. The incumbent will be the liaison with other departments within the Authority regarding recovery and storage of video images and associated equipment. This position will ensure all accidents/incidents within bus services are reviewed, downloaded and stored based on accident and incident reports from the Bus Operations Communication Center. This position oversees and coordinates work efforts independently and reports progress and major developments to the Department Heads of Bus Services.
Administers all video evidence reports and recovered video images, to include accountability, accuracy, storage and retrieval of bus accidents, incidents, complaints, and/or any request from authorized personnel.
Recovers images upon request from BUS, MTPD, SAFE, COUN, and Labor Relations or any other internal or external entity. May utilize qualified Authority personnel to recover video evidence and will coordinate and direct all activities involving the recovery of video evidence.
Reviews all requests for digital video evidence and forward one copy of the downloaded images to authorized parties and retain a copy of all downloaded images in a manner consistent with established policy. Maintains a log of all downloaded recordings to include the date of the event, the date of the request, the date of downloading, and the persons whom copies were sent.
Maintains a master file of all recovered video in accordance with WMATA’s policies as well as local, state and federal laws. Maintains a tracking system of requests and provides copies of video(s) in accordance with WMATA’s PARP policy and court issued subpoenas.
Collaborates with the division training instructors in supporting efforts to reduce and/or identify risky driving behaviors.
Develops and maintains system reliability trends and analysis to include tracking disciplinary actions, terminations, additional training and coaching sessions.
Conducts random checks of cameras and recording devices on buses, and coordinate repair/replacement as needed.
Testifies or provides other support on behalf of the Authority in a court of law regarding chain of custody of video images
Testifies or provides other support on behalf of the Authority in arbitration or other administrative hearings related to discipline or other matters involving the represented workforce, where video or audio evidence is introduced.
