Works as a records specialist in the Civil Records Division. This position is responsible for a variety of duties in relation to maintaining, storing, and ensuring accessibility of civil case files. Assists the public at the records counter and on the phone by answering questions and explaining procedures relating to court documents. Pulls files requested by the public and monitors file usage in the public review area. Makes copies of documents as requested and calculates and collects appropriate fees for copies. Locates files for the court's dockets. Tracks legal documents and ensures integrity of court files. Sorts and files civil papers according to case type.
The salary offer for the position will not exceed the mid-point of the advertised salary range. Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and one year of experience providing administrative support.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree. Accurate data entry and filing skills. Experience processing financial transactions. Good customer service and communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Detail oriented. Experience working with court records. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office computer software, especially Word and Outlook.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift boxes, files, and push a cart weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to input and retrieve data from a computer. Must be able to climb a ladder to access and store files. Must be able to stand, bend, and stoop to shelve papers and files for extended periods of time.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel interview. As part of the interview process a computerized test in basic administrative functions will be administered.
