A small non-profit education association is seeking an experienced professional communications manager to work part-time in its Reston, VA office 30 hours per week. This is not a tele-commuting position.
Integrating the organization’s marketing strategies, the communications manager will create, manage, implement and oversee communication efforts, both internal and external, encompassing traditional and virtual strategies to promote the organization. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to; managing website and social media content, producing the annual conference program, producing the annual competitive events guide, writing newsletters, press releases, articles and emails, editing documents, creating print and web-based promotional materials.
Requirements include, but are not limited to; a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in marketing/communications and three to five years of professional communications or marketing experience – preferably for a non-profit organization. Strong writing, editorial, and verbal skills, project management experience, proficiency in Word, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, and Power Point, and creating print and digital media promotions are necessary. Knowledge and understanding of graphics and video is preferable as is experience in secondary education and/or the STEM community.
