Express, the popular commuter publication of The Washington Post that runs every Monday through Friday, is looking for a talented, self-starting individual with a knack for savvy sales to join its vibrant advertising team as an Account Manager. It's an opportunity for you to play a powerful role in maintaining and growing The Washington Post's revenue by providing our high-profile clients with effective advertising solutions; driving our incremental sales to exciting new heights; assisting with the creative and layout of ads; tapping into the power of new industry trends to enhance the way the Express advertising team does business; and more.

Responsibilities include:

  • Experience working collaboratively with a sales team to drive impact
  • Analyze clients' and prospects' advertising and marketing needs, and recommend appropriate advertising solutions
  • Seek out opportunities to drive incremental sales while managing existing business
  • Achieve and exceed personal sales goals
  • Assist with ad creative using our advertising order entry system
  • Build and maintain strong, effective client relationships
  • Maintain complete records on advertiser activity through salesforce.com
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends as they pertain to your accounts

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-5+ years sales experience
  • Ability to make sales presentations
  • Excellent skills in organization, written/verbal communication, customer service and time management
  • Ability to make cold calls and build new client relationships
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience using salesforce.com (desired)
  • Experience with telephone sales (desired)
