As Account Manager for our Jobs Major Accounts unit, you'll have full command over a diverse range of media options to meet our clients' particular business goals. Our clients will count on you to help them navigate The Washington Post's full portfolio of products for print and online advertising, and to craft solid advertising strategies that will help them succeed. You'll own your accounts in our jobs recruitment category and focus on expanding a client base that totals more than $1 million in revenue. You'll also work within a structured schedule that incorporates planned time for out bounding and setting appointments, outside sales calls, sales planning, and generating opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Experience consulting and selling to HR Professionals
  • Make 50 outbound sales calls daily
  • Set up two appointments daily
  • Identify/qualify sales opportunities
  • Create a pipeline of prospects
  • Identify strategies/tactics to capture maximum value of potential opportunities
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends
  • Identify, build and sustain long-term profitable business relationships directly with clients
  • Establish rapport at multiple levels of the client organization
  • Provide a high level of client service
  • Meet with category manager weekly in a one-on-one for planning/strategy discussion
  • Follow proven, defined sales process for a full cycle of selling activities

Requirements include:

  • Proven ability to succeed in a sales environment
  • Experience making outbound sales calls
  • Proven ability to establish courses of action to achieve short- and long-term sales goals
  • Ability to work within a structured daily schedule
  • Ability to prospect aggressively and identify new opportunities
  • Professional and polished in-person presentation and communication skills
  • Previous B2B experience (desired)
  • Bachelor's degree (desired)
