Senior Health Services Research Study Director
Westat has an opening for an experienced, health services researcher to work on projects related to healthcare reform, leading data analysis, evaluation, and policy studies. Position involves leading design and management of research studies using various methods, and writing business proposals.
Basic qualifications include a PhD in Health Policy or other social science discipline such as Economics or Public Policy with 10 or more years of experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid payment and delivery model innovations (e.g, ACOs, bundled payment), healthcare claims and administrative data files, efficiency of healthcare, value-based payment, quality measurement, and utilization analysis. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong interpersonal skills coupled with experience with national healthcare policy issues, federal research contracting, and provider payment demonstration and evaluation are also required.
The successful candidate should have subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: national healthcare policy issues, provider payment demonstration and evaluation, and Medicare and Medicaid policy. Quality measurement, health insurance, as well as publication in these domains.
