JOB SUMMARY:

OFAC implements, administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions, based on U.S. foreign policy and national security goals, against foreign countries and regimes, and targeted foreign nationals and entities, such as terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, war criminals, weapons of mass destruction proliferators and their support structures.

    Specialized experience for the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
    • Experience with respect to U.S. economic sanctions programs administered by Treasury/OFAC; AND
    • Experience with policy analysis, development, implementation and evaluation; AND
    • Experience with legal or policy aspects of international trade, international investments, or international financial transactions; AND
    • Experience with legal or policy analysis and writing, including writing for a professional audience; AND
    • Experience with effective oral communication of substantive and technical issues.

    Specialized experience for the GS-13: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
    • Experience with respect to U.S. economic sanctions programs administered by Treasury/OFAC; AND
    • Experience with policy analysis, development, and implementation; AND
    • Experience with legal or policy aspects of international trade, international investments, or international financial transactions; AND
    • Experience with legal or policy analysis and writing, including writing for a professional audience.

    Specialized experience for the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
    • Experience with respect to U.S. economic sanctions programs administered by Treasury/OFAC; AND
    • Experience with policy analysis and development; AND
    • Experience with legal or policy aspects of international trade, international investments, or international financial transactions.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    - A one year probationary period may be required.
    - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
    - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
    - If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
