    To qualify for this position, applicants must possess one year of general experience OR two years of education above the high school level OR a qualifying combination of experience and education by the closing date of this announcement.

    General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of Commissary Contractor Monitor. To qualify for this position, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 level OR four years of education above the high school level OR a qualifying combination of experience and education by the closing date of this announcement.

    Examples of specialized experience include:
    -Conduct quality assurance inspections and contract surveillance duties of specified commissary or retail grocery contracted services.
    -Apply retail grocery store administration policies and procedures as they relate to established contracts.
    -Monitor vendors and/or contractors in a retail setting to ensure proper inventory.

    Appropriate education may be substituted for or combined with experience.

    Volunteer Experience: Your Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
