Assistant Director of Admissions - Georgetown University Law Center

The Assistant Director of Admissions assists with all aspects of the J.D. and Graduate (LL.M. & S.J.D.) admissions processes.  Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Admissions, the Assistant Director has duties that include but are not limited to:

Application Review and Decision

  • Assists in the review and rendering of decisions for more than 10,000 JD and Graduate applications received annually.
  • Assists with J.D. scholarship review processes.
  • Assists with training and coordination of the Admissions Committee.

Recruitment

  • Represents Georgetown Law at recruitment fairs, law forums and panels.
  • Develops and implements strategies for recruiting and yielding prospective law students.
  • Works on diversity recruitment initiatives.
  • Conducts applicant interviews.

Counseling

Counsels prospective and admitted students regarding the law school admissions process.

Technology and Publications

  • Directs the production of certain print and online marketing materials.
  • Works with the Office of Admissions team on web and social media marketing
  • Works with Office of Admissions team to handle the technical components of the J.D. and Graduate admissions processes, including online applications, database and web issues.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate
  • Familiarity with Microsoft development skills, in particular Office and Excel
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information and to work with a wide range of people including applicants, alumni, faculty, staff and students
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Availability and willingness to work occasional evening and weekend event and to participate in seasonal recruiting travel.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with student information systems or similar databases
  • Working knowledge of web development technologies and emerging social media
  • Strong multitasking abilities
