A. One year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level that demonstrates the ability to monitor network capacity and performance and diagnose network connectivity problem and respond to incitements; ability to ensure all systems security operations and maintenance activities are properly documented and updated as necessary; and the ability to assess the effectiveness of security controls and implement security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigate risks and recommend security changes to system or system components as needed; OR
B. Completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education; OR
C. Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Combination of graduate level education beyond the first 2 years of progressive graduate study and specialized experience that together meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
You qualify for the GS-12 grade level (starting salary $79,720) if you possess the following experience: Experience in monitoring network capacity and performance and diagnosing network connectivity problems and responding to incitements; experience in ensuring all systems security operations and maintenance activities are properly document and updated as necessary; experience in assessing the effectiveness of security controls and implementing security measures to resolve vulnerabilities, mitigating risks; recommending security changes to system or system components as needed; conducting network scouting and vulnerability analyses of systems within a network; and coordinating and providing technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents.
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level (starting salary $94,796) if you possess the following experience: Experience serving as a subject matter experience in cyber security principles, methods, tools and operations; broad experience and practiced knowledge in applying IT security standards to government owned networks; experience in applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to IT systems; experience in using computer forensic principals to maintain custody and conduct investigations; broad knowledge of common attack vectors on the network layer; and mastery in application of network equipment.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
