Applications Acceptance Planner (Planner I)
Works as part of the Zoning Evaluation Division. Reviews incoming applications for rezoning, special exception, special permit, variance, and amendments thereof, for compliance with Zoning Ordinance submission requirements. Researches zoning files, property records, deeds and other land record tools. Analyzes findings and takes appropriate acceptance actions. Enters and updates application data in the Land Development System (LDS). Meets with applicants to discuss submission requirements and provides guidance on the application process. Develops and maintains computer databases to track application intake, review and timeframes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited, four-year college or university in a planning-related field.
Professional experience in planning, zoning and site plan review. Experience using personal computer and word processing applications. Strong abilities in written and oral communications. Master's degree in planning or equivalent work experience.
