PenFed is hiring a Senior Manager, Branch Operations.  This position can be located at any of our branch locations or service centers.  The primary purpose of this job is to be responsible for helping to implement the strategy established for the growth of branches and continued development of branch employees. The Senior Manager of Branch Operations reports directly to the VP, Branch Operations.

    Coach and develop both Branch Managers and their employees, advise and help teams with complex management and technical objectives, work directly with Branch Managers to ensure the daily effectiveness of branch operations, create and implement strategies, processes and plans that enable branches to meet business objectives, visibly represent the credit union as a senior leader in the community. The Senior Manager will build and leverage internal partnerships to enhance the results of Branch Operations.  Oversee Branch Managers that are responsible for leading, directing, and coaching branch employees to effectively execute delivery of products and services for our members. The Senior Manager may also maintain responsibility for certain key community and military installation contacts in addition to the managerial component of the role.  Responsible for delivering extraordinary service to our members and will supervise Branch Managers to coach and develop their teams, create and implement strategies, processes and plans that enable them to help members meet their financial objectives while achieving the Credit Union’s objectives and goals. The Senior Manager is a direct resource for Branch Managers and their teams. Responsible for the employee evaluation process, member conflict mitigation, engagement in the talent acquisition process, and at times represent Branch Operations in key initiatives/projects/mergers. In addition, will have responsibility for establishing and revising organizational policy and procedures. This includes but is not limited to procedural, inter-departmental, organization, and base or military affairs.  Must obtain and maintain Loan Officer Authority as they will have a monthly loan target, as well as be a subject matter expert to assist branch teams in the lending space. The Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing loan queues to ensure they are maintained and up to date.  Demonstrate deep and broad business acumen with strong technical and credit skills and displaying sound judgement when making difficult employee and business decisions with urgency. Champion change and ensure changes are effectively implemented.  Will establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across organizational boundaries

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Undergraduate degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions, required.   Minimum of six (6) years’ management experience (Retail Banking experience preferred. Minimum of three (3) years’ of operational experience.  Minimum of three (3) years’ of employee development.  Minimum of three (3) years’ of leading large diverse teams. Minimum of three (3) years’ business development. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Technical proficiency in basic computer operations.

Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

    Travel up to 70% of the time
