Assessment and Data Coordinator

The George Mason University Accreditation and External Reporting Office (AERO), within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), seeks a highly motivated and versatile individual to serve as the CEHD Assessment and Data Coordinator. Responsibilities: The incumbent will support CEHD faculty and students in the collection, recording and use of student assessment data via the college’s online assessment software; and to support AERO staff in the coordination of internal data for the college’s Calendar Year Review Process (CYRP).

The primary duties of this position are very structured and desk-based. Duties entail working within multiple assessment tracking systems, including Blackboard and CEHD’s online assessment software (Tk20) and intranet database systems. Specific responsibilities include: * Maintaining and updating AERO’s intranet-based assessment schedule; * Uploading and configuring CEHD assessments into Tk20; * Preparing Tk20-to-Blackboard assessment implementation; * Preparing end-of semester assessment-related reports in Tk20 for distribution to academic programs; * Monitoring bi-weekly Banner data transfer from CEHD to Tk20; * Monitoring AERO’s Tk20 support e-mail account and providing support to faculty and staff; * Assisting in the maintenance of AERO’s Tk20 Student and Faculty Help Web site; * Coordinating the preparation of student assessment data for the college’s CYRP; and * Constructing data tables based on information from a variety of college and university sources for the CYRP.

Required Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience); strong attention to detail along with excellent organizational and workflow management skills, especially for time-sensitive actions; the ability to work independently and to analyze problems and provide resolutions; the ability to work within multiple database systems concurrently and to adapt to new technologies and processes; the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing with a variety of clients; and a strong commitment to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Blackboard, Ellucian Banner, and/or other educational online assessment platforms (Tk20, TaskStream, Chalk and Wire, etc.); experience with higher education accreditation processes; and proficiency with multiple software programs (e.g., within Microsoft Office).
