PenFed is hiring a Senior Manager, Secondary Marketing in our McLean, Virginia location. This position will report to the VP of Secondary Marketing.  The Responsibilities will include running and managing the Secondary marketing risk management system (QRM).  Manage daily pricing and updating all systems for Retail and Correspondent divisions.  This position will also manage all aspects of the lock desk which will include two staff members. 


Essential Functions

    Manage daily pricing to ensure accuracy with all system flows for Retail and Correspondent channels. Manage and maintain the Secondary Marketing risk management system (QRM). Manage all responsibilities for the rate lock desk including staff. Responsible for successfully balancing daily hedge and loan sale reports.  Assist with detailed analysis of loan sale results. Work closely with the VP of Secondary Marketing to improve risk reporting, hedging, and loan sale activities. Design and maintain an effective internal control process to mitigate operational and market risks, including verification of trades, valuation of positions, and reconciliation of cash settlements. Maintain and document assumptions in secondary marketing management system.  Ensure the accurately reflect current loan, industry, market data.  Including pipeline management. Work closely with loan delivery and operation management.

Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration Master’s/Advanced Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration 5-7 years mortgage banking experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.


Administrative/Technical Skills/ Other Information

    Thorough knowledge of various reports including a daily position report and mark to market report Thorough knowledge of mortgage lending products, services and sales Thorough knowledge of mortgage loan underwriting, documentation, and legal/regulatory requirements Heavy emphasis on advanced Excel and some database management is preferred. Excellent organization skills Ability to manage competing priorities Previous experience using Ellie Mae Encompass is preferred, but not required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will directly supervise employees.

    There are no additional certifications required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.



Limited travel to various worksites is required.
