DCS is looking for a software engineer to provide technical support as part of the Navy's on-site team overseeing the design and development of the Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) software by General Atomics (GA). Work will be performed at the GA site in Rancho Bernardo, CA, near San Diego.

Essential Job Functions:

Witness formal Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) testing and report progress, issues, and results back to the Navy team management in Lakehurst, NJ.

Attend and support AAG software team meetings at the prime contractor site.

Attend and participate in Software Configuration Control Board, Integrated Program Team, and other meetings at the prime contractor site, as required.

Review and approve Software Test Procedures in conjunction with government Subject Matter Experts located at the Navy's Lakehurst facility.

Provide assistance to the on-site Navy technical lead in guiding the prime contractor's efforts to implement the Agile software development method.

Provide assistance and guidance to the prime contractor in software testing and configuration management best practices.

Provide assistance with defining and developing software support tools for the AAG software sustainment phase.
Requirements Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field is required.

Must have at least five (5) years experience working on software development projects with at least two (2) years of that experience focused on software testing.

Must have an active clearance at the Secret level or must have held an active clearance within the last two (2) years.

Must have solid experience working on sophisticated software development projects.

Must have experience developing software in C/C++ on a Linux platform.

Must have experience working under multiple SDLCs such as waterfall, agile, and spiral.

Desired Skills:

Experience working with real-time operating systems is a plus.
