The Graphic Designer (GD) for the Brand + Communications Division is a key member of the Design team, and reports directly to the Design Director. The GD will work both independently and in collaboration with the entire design team. The GD will work to design and produce a wide variety of CI branding and marketing products for both printed and onscreen delivery. Products will be developed for internal and external audiences and will range in scale from small fact sheets to institutional campaigns. The GD has a passion for branding design and the role that design plays in effective communications. Strong interpersonal communication skills are required in order to be able to successfully interact with staff, of various levels of the organization, as projects and timelines will often be self-managed. The ability to interpret clients’ needs will be essential to delivering the tools that are required.


Design + Production (30%)

 The GD designs and produces fact sheets, brochures, annual report, event materials, displays, and other products for internal and external audiences under the direction of the Design Director. The GD will work directly with internal clients to be sure that all edits and changes are incorporated accurately. The GD will prepare digital files for efficient delivery to print/production vendors or online. The GD will review proofs and be sure that the Design Director reviews all creative work before it is approved for final production. The GD should have a strong understanding of CI brand style and standards.

Presentations (25%)

 The GD designs and set up electronic presentations that follow pre-established CI branding and design guidelines under the direction of the Design Director. The GD works directly with various staff to establish the content of presentations, and work through edits. Projects are sometimes self-managed. Presentations are needed for events that occur internally and externally and play an integral part in representing CI’s brand over many audiences.

Administrative (5%)

 The GD will help to manage the maintenance and displaying of CI marketing materials, responding to staff requests for marketing materials; organizing and maintaining CI design archive. The GD maintains creative services intranet presence.

Digital Design/Production (25%)

The GD will assist with the digital and social media to produce email, web and social media graphics as well as assist with any video or motion graphics.

Infographic Design (10%)

The GD will assist in the development and design of infographic materials. These infographics will be used on both digital and print products. The GD will work directly with content developers (writers or journalists) to create visually compelling designs based on established data driven storytelling methods.


Working conditions are in a normal office environment. 



  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a creative role (in-house or agency).
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple keynote.
  • Technical knowledge of printing production and pre-press processes.
  •  Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously while providing high quality work.
  • Team player with exceptional verbal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in file management and file naming conventions.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to learn about and support CI’s mission


  • Digital photography experience and photo retouching.
