Summary

PenFed is hiring a Specialist, Social Media in our McLean, Virginia headquarters. The primary purpose of this job is to be responsible for managing all social content marketing efforts including participation in campaign strategy, planning and execution.

 

Essential Functions

    Collaborate with designers, marketing managers, social media team, external influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audiences. Serve as content curator for the social media team. Represent the social media team at special events. Interface with and provide correspondence, on social media channels after normal business hours to include weekends and holidays. This is a shared responsibility. Interface with website content team as it relates to the blog, social media and marketing efforts. Work closely with the social media strategist on content strategy for social media channels. Work closely with content writers and product teams to implement strategy from beginning to end – from idea conception, to writing, content review and publication. Produce high-quality content for websites, blog, marketing materials, and video scripts. Write marketing copy for advertising social advertising campaigns. Other duties as assigned.
 

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field is required. Minimum of three (3) years’ of experience in producing content is required. Experience working with social media platforms is required. Experience building audiences either online or offline is required. Experience in the financial space is preferred but not required. Ability to provide afterhour’s coverage/support to the social media team is required. Knowledge of content optimization and SEO tactics if required. Must have direct experience with all social platforms, email marketing, writing both website content and blogs, as well as handling online reputation management Familiarity with social media advertising, email marketing and Adobe Experience Manager is a plus.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

 

Travel

Limited travel to various worksites is required.
