Role: NOC Technician Location: Washington, DC Schedule: 40 hours / week **Night Shift** Overview: Apex Systems, the nation's second largest IT staffing and technology services firm, has an immediate opening for a NOC Technician to sit on-site in Washington, DC. The Incident Management Center (IMC) Analyst is a member of the Service Center/IMC team, responsible for resolution of service issues and adhering to processes and procedures related to tactical IMC operations. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned) Qualifications: Operate in a 24/7/365 environment so that the network infrastructure is running effectively at all times which includes continuous monitoring of all services, engaging the necessary resources and ensuring that every reasonable effort is made to restore service as quickly as possible in the event of a degradation or outage. Work issues as efficiently and as accurately as possible in a team-oriented professional culture. Monitor and resolve customer issues, problem-solve, learn and create your own mechanisms for resolving issues and most importantly, communicate effectively with the ability to work in a team environment. Communicate effectively with attention to detail and organizational awareness; have the ability to prioritize multiple objectives in order to meet compliance objectives. To meet/exceed and maintain service levels as assigned by management. To meet/exceed expected reliability standards. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills required Ability to identify and analyze network quality and operational processes and then drive corrective / preventative action plans Strong working knowledge of IP, including IP network architecture, a solid understand routing protocols, and DNS is required Working knowledge of physical layer operation including optical transport networks and equipment and expertise is a plus Flexibility to work non-standard (shift) work hours where applicable. **Night Shift** Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, and training Qualifications: 5-7 years professional experience in a NOC or Enterprise environment involving a geographically distributed network Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with shifting priorities Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) Self-starter who can find and resolve issues Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols to perform network status checks as part of normal surveillance activities Ability to write technical documentation and create management reports and metrics Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization If you're interested in this opportunity please contact Amber Smigielski at [Click Here to Email Your Resume] As a contract employee of Apex Systems, you are eligible for Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance; Shorter Term Disability; Hospitalization Coverage; Direct Deposit; Weekly Pay Periods; Training and Development Programs; Corporate Discounts / Perks and our Referral Program.
