The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will support the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in SOX compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the 10Q and 10K reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Responsibilities - Maintain monthly payment schedules - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed - Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision - Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments - Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management - Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Partake in annual closing processes - Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines - Account and General Ledger reconciliation experience required - Proven knowledge of accounts receivable - Command of journal entries - Strong familiarity with account analysis - Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel - Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger - Experience with accounts payable - Proven knowledge of NetSuite, SAP, Blackline, and ADP - CPA certification desired - Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities - Great attention to detail - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - At least 2 years of Accounting experienceAccountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
