Our client is looking for a full-time Mechanical Designer to design, layout, and detail machine parts for the corrugated box industry. This position has the potential for occasional travel to customer locations to survey machines and after-hours access to support Field Service Personnel. Mechanical Designers work closely with Production to troubleshoot assembly issues as well as the Sales Department to promote products and support customers. RESPONSIBILITIES Design machine equipment or modify existing product designs and retrofits Detail parts in CAD systems Perform machine surveys to evaluate and specify modifications to install retrofit equipment Read and interpret technical drawings Assist Production and Purchasing in manufacturing and assembly methodsRequirements: Associates Degree in Mechanical Design or related discipline; equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree 3-5 years experience in engineering design of capital equipment/industrial machinery preferably high speed machinery Working knowledge of automated CAD systems, SolidWorks Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
