Responsibilities: - Assesses complex data systems and programs in support of ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests. - Recommend emerging technologies and techniques to support/enhance BI landscape components - Creates programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data. - Examines data quality, applications, and functions. Produces output and sustains operation. - Researches new data sources and analytical tools. - Analyze, visualize, and provide analytics data. - Build end-to-end reporting solutions. - Contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation. Develops awareness of and familiarity with issues and events affecting organization, department, and/or customer. - Uses and supports database applications and analytical tools. Uses timely and appropriate participation of users/customers in data collection and query systems. - Plans, organizes, and conducts research in a variety of areas, such as new or existing products, science, social science, law or business, etc. in support of an IT initiative. - Searches sources such as reference works, literature, documents, newspapers, statistical records, and other sources of information. May use Internet, Intranet, magazines, periodicals, journals, and other media to perform research. - Analyzes information and statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professionals. Requirements: - Strong background in data analysis using SQL, MS Dynamics and Python - Familiarity with analytical techniques, including clustering, regression, trend analysis, forecasting, modeling, and experiment design. - Demonstrated experience in migration of BI environment and tools - Demonstrated experience with both Oracle eBusiness and SAP tables (ETL and reporting) - Demonstrated experience in a dimensional modeling approach (eg Kimball) - Demonstrated experience of merging disparate systems performing similar business functions into a consolidated reporting environment - Demonstrated experience working with Federal financial and procurement data and processes - Demonstrated experience with Informatica, Netezza/Pure Data for Analytics, BoBJ and Oracle OBIEE - Research and possess business knowledge of all relevant systems, knowledge of business reporting and analysis needs - Engage in gathering and development of business requirements for BI/DW projects, working with executives, managers, and users across multiple business units. - Translate business requirements into designs and solutions using that meet those requirements - Work with BI/DW team and vendor experts to quickly troubleshoot and resolve issues. - Demonstrated experience with information design, analysis, and statistics - Strong communication skills; articulate and able to communicate with associates from different functional areas and IT Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an IT related field Location: Arlington, VA Clearance Requirements: An active SECRET clearance is required Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs.
