In this role, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This full-time Accounting Clerk position is located in the Washington, District of Columbia, area. Major responsibilities - File vendor invoices and disbursements and match file A/P invoices to support accounts payable - Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable - Ensure accuracy of transaction documents, and revise other documents or entries as needed; may initiate other actions - Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources - Use manual or electronic methods to add financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers - Facilitate budgetary control by tracking budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers - Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned - Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required - General accounting and administration support: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects - Use knowledge of expenditure codes and accounting codes to accurately code documents- AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred - 2+ years of accounting experience required - Filing experience - Foundational knowledge in ordering office supplies and equipment - navigating basic office equipment and protocols experience desired - Command of conference room setup cleanup - Proficient in Excel and SAP - Entry-level considered - Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data - Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast paced and challenging environmentRobert Half Finance & Accounting, the world's leader in specialized financial staffing, provides exciting full-time opportunities in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more.
