Improving quality of life.About This Business LineWR WaterJob DescriptionArcadis is searching for a Water / Wastewater Staff Engineer, with 5 to 10 years of water/wastewater plant process experience, to join our Water Division team in the Washington, DC office to support water and wastewater related infrastructure projects.Our team helps clients achieve business objectives by creating and implementing innovative and effective solutions using state-of-the-art technologies, and this is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to join our local team with support from one of the best-qualified global consulting firms in the industry. This passionate and motivated individual, with the support of nationally-recognized technical staff, will utilize their experience and technical knowledge to successfully execute water, wastewater and stormwater planning, design and construction projects. This individual will also support current client development activities and learn Arcadis' project management tools and protocols. The successful candidate will also have the potential opportunity to engage in projects throughout the United States and around the world through Arcadis' extensive network of client relationships and global exchange and outreach programs.Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Working with and supporting a Project Managers to develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, as well as assisting with execution and delivery of projects on time, on budget and to the performance expectations of the client.Leading and directing the day-to-day technical development of water and wastewater projects including treatment, supply, pumping systems, collections and distribution systems and storm water systems from planning and design through construction.Utilizing professional knowledge of local area clients and current contacts to lead and further develop client opportunities in this region, with support from area leadership.Coordinating multi-disciplined engineering teams.Supervising and supporting the work of others, and mentoring junior level technical staff.Tracking and maintaining project and task budgets and schedules.Maintaining a safe working environment by understanding and embracing Arcadis' health and safety culture.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications5 years of experience.Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.Current PE License in VA or ability to obtain through reciprocity.Experience in water / wastewater design and construction administration / oversight projects as a Task Manager and/or Design Engineer, on a variety projects, from small to larger in size.Strong team leadership experience or proven potential; including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring.Experience in client facing role with skills to include; preparation and development of proposals, managing client expectations and overall relationship.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Flexible to work with different project teams present locally and across remote offices.Self-motivated in improving team and personal performance.Preferred Qualifications8 years of progressively responsible experience.Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Bachelor's degree in Engineering and an MBA.Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.Experience with and current contacts within the local area municipal utilities market.Have a good track record of working collaboratively in teams and other disciplines in delivering variety of water infrastructure projects.Ability to communicate with stakeholders including technical and non-technical parties.Deliver innovative solutions through a client focused approach.We are an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
