Licensed Behavior Specialist
Licensed Behavior Specialist to deliver EPSDT services by visiting the child or adolescent at home or in the school to deliver on-site psychological counseling and working closely with the parents and teachers to enable them to respond more therapeutically to the child or adolescent and help the child or them to respond more therapeutically to the child or adolescent and help the child or adolescent achieve age-appropriate social and emotional functioning as quickly as possible. Counsel with emphasis on prevention. Works with individuals to promote optimum mental and emotional health. This position will interact constructively and cross functionally with all members of the Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS) team and community. Provides direct therapy to children and adolescents with a mental health diagnosis, provides weekly supervision to therapeutic support staff, manages all aspects client treatment, and facilitates treatment based decisions. Provides support to parents, teachers, and community officials. Ensures appropriate referrals to community resources, disposition, and discharge planning. Must be willing and able to intervene and control agitated clients through physical and non-physical interventions. Safe Crisis Management certification is required at time of initial training and annually thereafter. Ensures employee compliance to all Franklin Family Services policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Provides valid input for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships. Attend meetings, training, and seminars as required for position. Maintain professional boundaries with all clients/family members in accordance with sound clinical judgement, and Franklin Family Services Code of Conduct. Develops and implements an Individualized Treatment Plan. Provides information clearly and concisely with members of the client's interagency support team. Completes all paperwork and documentation in accordance with established organizational policies and procedures and acceptable clinical practices, as well as state regulations, within designated time frames. The BSC is accountable for averaging and maintaining between 10-20 billable hours per week (measured monthly) and an average of 5-10 non-billable hours weekly (measured monthly). Must have reliable transportation. Maintain 20 hours of training (CEU) per year, as required by state regulations. Represents Franklin Family Service, Inc. in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Must be Licensed with a Master's Degree in a mental health related field (psychology, counseling, social work) and a minimum of one year of experience providing services in a CASSP Principled program. Demonstrate ability to use soft skills to achieve objectives. Ability to obtain and maintain all required Clearances (ACT168, ACT31, FBI, State Criminal, & Childline). Ability to obtain and maintain required PPD as required by each school district. Additional qualifications, as specified from time to time, by regulatory agencies and/or employer. Travel within Franklin/Fulton County is based on requirements that are job related and consistent with business necessity. At times, travel outside of Franklin/Fulton County may be required. Reliable transportation is a job requirement.
