X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST SUMMARY The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, OrthoMaryland Care Center is seeking a team-oriented, service-driven X-ray Technologist for our busy orthopaedic practice. The X-ray Technologist will provide direct patient care as they conduct radiography procedures in support of our physicians and PAs as they evaluate and treat patients. This team member will contribute to the achievement of excellence in health care to fulfill the mission of the unit. This is a full-time position that rotates among our three Baltimore area locations. The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. DUTIES: Exhibit strong customer service skills in daily interaction with the public, patients, staff and physicians in the performance of job duties Perform satisfactory x-rays using Computed Radiography and/or Digital Radiography equipment Follow all Federal and State guidelines in accordance with radiation and radiation units Utilize computer software programs, as needed, to communicate and understand patient needs (ie scheduling, EMR, etc) Provide copy of x-ray images on either paper, electronic, CD, or other mode as needed Gather patient data and medical history and assist in the intake/rooming of patients Participate in planning and evaluation of patient care by communicating all information pertinent to the patient's status Maintain supplies and equipment and assists to ensure orderliness of the examination and treatment rooms Provide for patient's comfort, safety and privacy Report all necessary information and/or unusual occurrences in accordance with established policies and procedures Assist patients in preparation for medical exams and/or procedures. Keep patients comfortable during waiting time Assist in patient flow in and around clinical area Provide patient care during clinic visits according to policies and procedures Adheres to OrthoMaryland's policies and procedures All other duties as assigned X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST EDUCATION/LICENSURE Completion of an accredited program in x-ray technology or its equivalent Licensed as a Radiographer in the State of Maryland Certified by the ARRT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of healthcare experience required Orthopedic experience preferred Ability to take necessary x-rays, position patients and notify physicians when questionable results are found Experience with computer applications necessary for collection of patient data and translation of x-rays Knowledgeable of and able to initiate emergency procedures ABOUT ORTHOMARYLAND: OrthoMaryland welcomes new team members into our medical family.
