Edgewood Management is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician in the Washington DC area! The maintenance technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance of the apartment community, but not limited to the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC & carpentry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned. Knowledge of general Property Management Repair and Maintenance. Knowledge of maintenance programs gained through formal education or on-the-job training preferred. May be required to work overtime, work outside, travel, be on-call or be available for emergency situations including weekends and holidays. Cleaning of general and common areas of community Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail and good mathematic skills. Ability to work well with others and foster an environment of team work. Manual dexterity and coordination needed to operate hand and power tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance and a physical examination will be required. May be required to have a valid driver's license and a good driving record Reliable Transportation 2+ years Maintenance Experience Must have ability to think independently HVAC experience Electrical/ Plumbing/ Drywall & Painting/ General Carpentry Communicate Effectively in person& in writing Ability to handle multiple task Qualifications: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and on an emergency basis. Candidates must be detail oriented and hard working. Knowledge of residential building systems, including but not limited to, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, condensing units, roof fans. Professional building system licenses are preferred and may be required. HVAC and/or CFC certifications required (or other applicable designations) Lead paint certifications (as necessary) CAMTI and CAMTII are preferred Successful candidates will exhibit a demonstrable passion for high quality results and a can-do attitude. Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality. Basic Plumbing Basic Electric (when no license is required) Basic Sheetrock/Drywall Basic Carpentry Basic Roofs and gutters Basic Wallpaper/Painting, including use of paint sprayer Basic Foundation/Sidewalk Experienced in the use of basic cleaning supplies and equipment
