This position located in Arlington, VA. Location and Relocation are negotiable.JOB DESCRIPTIONLeads Mission and Defense Technologies Business Unit Business Development functions for the General Manager in coordination with National Account Managers (when assigned) and Business Unit management team (Assistant GMs and Business Line Managers) and in collaboration with other account/capture/project managers assigned for a Business Unit with $90M in total Business Volume.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain strategic market presence through targeted Business Unit (BU) thought leadership efforts including publications, technical presentations, etc. Maintain visibility and contact with >20 key clients and >6 key partners. Manage the BU business development process in alignment with the Battelle Contract Research strategic plan in concert with the Business Unit management team and in collaboration with the Contract Research Business Development and Sales Office. Develop and maintain a network of relationships with Business Unit clients and partners in coordination with the Business Unit management team and in collaboration with the Battelle Contract Research Business Development and Sales Office. Lead the development and oversee the execution of multiyear Business Plans which define and prioritize the business strategy, focus areas, growth expectations, business development investments, marketing and communications plans, legislative priorities, and associated capital expenditures. Develop and execute a multiyear Sales Plans which support the BU Business Plan and business strategy supporting a business volume of $100M in FY18 growing to >$120M within 5 years. In coordination with the Business Unit management team and in collaboration with the Battelle Contract Research Business Development and Sales Office, work to ensure that marketing and sales activities are conducted as established in the BU Business and Sales Plans. In coordination with the Business Unit management team and in collaboration with Contract Research Business Development and Sales Office, contract, collect, analyze, and disseminate market/business intelligence relevant to the Business Unit Act in the best interest of Battelle while working in concert with members of the M&DT BU, other BU GMs and/or their BD assets, Battelle National Account Managers, Contract Research Program Management Office, Contract Research Business Development and Sales Office, Battelle Advanced Manufacturing, and other Battelle Corporate and Contract Research support services teams Maintain a "pulse" on other BU technology developments and investments to develop and support synergies across the Battelle enterprise Coordinate client offerings with SeeByte LTD and SeeByte Inc and other Battelle Business Units and subsidiaries Manages staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties. Determines business development staffing requirements, and interviews, hire and train new employees, and oversee thoseTHE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: Requires a person who demonstrates integrity, respect, and trust in all dealings Requires a Master's Degree in Business Administration or Advanced Engineering Management (inclusive of financial management and business development) or equivalent, or equivalent experience. Requires 10- 15 years' experience in advanced Department of Defense technology programs or system operations with a broad grasp of involved practices and precedents. Requires 10- 15 years of demonstrated prior experience in building collaborative teams across multiple business units, business lines, programs and subsidiaries, or equivalent US Military service experience. Must be a US Citizen with a current DOD Secret Clearance and an ability to obtain a TOP SECRET Clearance with a SBI and Polygraph if required after hire.THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: Desired that the individual in this position have a thorough knowledge of the business markets involved and the ability to perceive and conceptualize market opportunities.
