Position Summary The Health Information Coordinator's core responsibilities revolve around a superior knowledge of health information processes and procedures. They will demonstrate the ability to support the company offices with insurance and health information while working with internal processing of insurances, audits and compliance, and more. Job Description Responsibilities include Monitoring and recording payments received by insurance providersTransfer balances to patients when necessaryRefund balances to patients when necessaryUtilize gateway and insurance websites to update account informationObtain missing or invalid claim information from the officesAct as a support system for the offices and other MyEyeDr departmentsAnswer emails and voicemails in a timely fashionMeet monthly goals and metrics set by the Health Information manager or project coordinatorsMedical Records/audits/legal requests: Preparing and responding to all requests while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.Demonstrate superior problem solving skillsIdentify issues and concerns in daily processes and provide insight on correctionsCreate SOP documents on health information processes and proceduresCreate more seamless processes for insurance carrier's enrollmentMaintain and update all insurance reference guides as neededMonitor Affinity Analytics daily for invalid and expiring logins.Correct and confirm all location/ provider management errors.Create user credentials, store roles, and shared access policies for new and existing locations utilizing PIM.Maintain and update all password for locations within PIM software.Process all incoming insurance depositsUpdate daily deposit trackingUpdate insurance tracking documents for acquisition officesCompile mail and insurance documents in boxes to be sent to satellite MVC officesMaintain patient billing processes by posting payments, suppressing claims, and processing spreadsheets. Experience and Qualifications High School degree/GED Required1-3 years of medical billing or health information experience preferredAccounting experience preferredLead, assistant manager, management experience preferred Knowledge and Abilities Strong computer skillsProficient in Microsoft office and excelDemonstrated ability to work in a teamStrong communication skillsStrong mathematical and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to multitask and work in fast paced environmentsStrong problem solving skillsLeadership qualitiesn/a
