Responsibilities - Create and maintain data warehouse schemas and ETL processes. - Coordinates the data administration technical function for both data warehouse development and maintenance. - Will work closely with IT Architects, Analysts, Data Scientists, UI/UX designers, functional practitioners, and clients/stakeholders to gather data requirements - Facilitates change control, problem management, and communication among data architects, programmers, analysts, and engineers. - Establishes and enforces processes to ensure a consistent, well managed, and well-integrated data warehouse infrastructure. - Analyzes and identifies data and metadata requirements. - Defines user requirements and database design specifications. - Designs, implements, and supports data warehousing requirements. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. - Provides product support and maintenance of the data warehouse. - Performs data warehouse design and construction. - Prepares/implements data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse. Requirements: - Experience 6+ years with technical applications focusing on data - Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar) - Ability to create complex SQL queries and tuning runtime performance of the queries - Ability to create stored procedures and database views - Knowledge with ETL tools (ie, SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica, InfoSphere, etc.) and having the ability to implement complex, parallel data migration systems - Ability to quickly solve problems that arise during ETL due to data problems, network problems or similar events. - Understanding of data warehouse modeling, data migration and auditing - Deep understanding of data warehouse modeling, especially Kimball method - Extensive knowledge building high performing data transfer processes. - Experience planning and leading major technology assignments. - Strong consulting and client management skills. - Demonstrated track record of analytical and critical thinking skills. - Organized, motivated and demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision to achieve desired objectives. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an IT related field Location: Arlington, VA Clearance Requirements: An active SECRET clearance is required Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time Work Environment: Individual's primary workstation is located in an office area The noise level in this environment is low to moderate Why Octo?
