The Opportunity | Hardware Engineer, Ashburn, VAThe Hardware Developer is responsible for all aspects of hardware development within an embedded systems environment. The individual will support activities including requirements definition, design capture, debugging, testing, documenting, support and at the most senior level, may provide architecture, mentoring and team leadership.Your ChallengeDesign, develop and test new embedded HardwareSupport and enhance existing embedded HardwareApply established development processes and assist in process improvementAnalyze marketing and engineering requirements and develop design alternativesGenerate complete and accurate user and design documentationProvide input to architecture and design reviewsProvide input and evaluation of new technologies and productsKeep current with embedded Hardware trends and share knowledgePerform design verification of productsContribute to the release of manufacturing technical data packages for productsAssist in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the teamBring a Self Starter, Highly Motivated Attitude to the role.Your ExpertiseBachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent2-8 yrs Board level development experience utilizing high speed digital circuits and/or FPGAs is requiredExperience with board level and/or FPGA development process is an assetExperience with extended temperature design testing is desiredExperience with Hardware engineering processes and standards, and product configuration management system is an assetExperience with design capture tools (preferably Mentor Graphics) is an assetExperience with signal integrity analysis tools and measurement is an assetExperience with Hardware defect tracking tools and test methodologies is an assetExperience with Hardware debugging tools -- analyzers, scopes, emulatorsExperience with using diagnostics tools like Digital Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DVMsExperience with writing test software in C and/or assembly language is an assetExperience with hardware descriptor languages such as Verilog or VHDL is an assetExperience with requirements capture, analysis and tracking is an assetProven communication/interpersonal skillsStrong sense of responsibility, commitment to quality and achieving deadlinesThis position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations, ie the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
