Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments, and functions as a technical expert. Evaluates system performance results and recommends changes affecting growth and success. Required Skills: At least three to five years' experience with LAN/WAN infrastructures; and installing, migrating, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7 platforms. Thorough knowledge and progressive hands-on experience supporting Windows platforms, tools and technologies. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Active Top Secret Clearance CompTIA Sec+ and/or CompTIA CASP and/or CISSP An OS Cert: example: MCITP, MCSE, VCP, CCNA Responsibilities: Daily support and assistance for computer systems using the Windows platform.in accordance with JS operating procedures in order to support existing service level agreements. Performs routine system health checks and administers maintenance, repairs, and upgrades (ie, network operating system upgrades, server refresh, etc.) during non-business hours or as coordinated with the Government in accordance with established operating procedures. Test and install operating system upgrades, patches and hardware changes in a timely manner consistent with security, information assurance, and change control requirements. Supports system back-ups and restore functions to ensure data availability and survivability of JS information in accordance with Federal, DOD, and management directives and requirements for data and disaster recovery. Troubleshooting for other employees, work online, and over the phone for a technical-support service, and work as part of a team of administrators. Keeps security software up to date and maintains machines and servers to keep them at an optimal level of performance. Managing and maintaining computer systems and tools; finding and fixing issues within systems; and implementing, monitoring, and building tools that automate repetitive tasks to minimize errors and prevent downtime. Troubleshoots network systems and database structures when necessary and makes recommendations for improvement. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Designing, planning, putting into place, and having the highest level of performance as an expert in the system administration for computers and their complex operating systems. Research and select upgrades, software and other necessities for DoD computer systems. Update and back up all data, monitor networks, and recommend viable solutions for problems to management. Work with other administrators to resolve or implement new hardware for computers, printers and other service systems for the customer. Assesses large-scale system projects through vendor comparison and cost studies. Strong ability to plan, organize, evaluate and redesign system designs to have them work better for the customer. Work Hours: First Shift and flexible around core business hours.
