First Home Care was established in 1991 to provide community-based services for children with a history of out-of-home behavioral health treatment. Since then, the First Home Care team has developed an integrated continuum of care which includes Therapeutic Foster Care, School-Based Programming, Therapeutic Group Homes, Day Support, Mental Health Support and Outpatient Counseling. We are looking for LGSW/LGPC clinicians to provide therapeutic services to children and their families in and around Washington, DC. Full and part time schedules are available. Some evening work is required to meet the scheduling needs of our families. The position will be responsible for providing individual, group and family counseling to children aged 5-21 and their families. Therapies are provided in the child's home, school and community. Therapists will also provide referrals to outside services and resources as needed and are expected to be an integral part of a treatment team that includes natural and formal supports. Clinical Supervision towards licensure provided. We have both LPC and LICSW Supervisors. Training provided in two evidence-based trauma models, Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) as well as the CAFAS assessment tool, Person-Centered Treatment Planning, Verbal De-escalation. (CEU's available for some in-house training!).Education/Skills: Master's Degree in Social Services, Counseling, Psychology or a related field. LGSW, LGPC, LICSW, LPC, licensure Required Must have demonstrated experience as a Therapist and prior experience with community based work. Previous MRO program experience is preferred. Must be flexible and able to work evening and weekends as needed Must be able to utilize a computer-based system in order to enter contact notes Must possess knowledge of community resources and how to access such resources; family dynamics; crisis intervention/management; and strong organizational and communication skills.
