Job Purpose: ePlus is looking for a talented, quality driven Software Engineer to help our custom applications team. You will be working as a team member writing technical requirements, designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting software products, critical to ePlus business. Additionally, you will perform software builds, deployments and provide production support. Job Responsibilities: Work with ITS management and business stakeholders to understand product requirements. Design software components based on documented requirements. Produce engineering estimates based on documented requirements, technical specifications and execute against project plans and delivery commitments in a timely manner. Code and test software components. Collaborate with a small team of offshore software engineering resources. Diagnose and correct software defects. Support application builds and configuration management activities. Produce product artifacts including issue/change request documentation, requirements, specifications, testing documentation, system/operations guides, and disaster recovery plans. Adhere to operating standards for such items as code control, issue tracking, time reporting, etc. Following industry standards, use software architectural best practices and consistently improve your software development Job Knowledge/Skills: Professional experience with Microsoft software development technologies, including ASP.NET/C#, SQL Server/Oracle, and N-tiered architectures. Experience designing and developing Web applications for both internal operational systems and external-facing sites. Experience with commercial software development and support a plus. Experience working with software service-oriented technologies a plus. Experience designing and developing application interfaces. Understanding of basic design principles/patterns and best practices. Solid comprehension of software design principles/patterns, software development processes/practices, and configuration management. Experience with internal IT controls (eg, Sarbanes-Oxley and SAS 70). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analysis skills. Willingness to travel as needed (may occasionally be required). Willingness to perform keyboard intensive work 90% of the time. Willingness to be on call, 7x24x365 (less pre-approved exceptions) and attend to technical issues outside of normal business hours.
