The Engineering Project Planner (EPP) will play a key role in developing and maintaining plans and schedules for the Wabtec Germantown Engineering department. The EPP will be involved in the planning stages of all engineering projects and will be responsible for planning and scheduling various project workloads in accordance with priorities set by the management. The position requires a highly-motivated professional with the ability to participate collaboratively within a project team as well as develop solutions independently. Organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in all aspects of the position, both orally and in written form are necessary.Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: Develop and maintain plans and schedules for engineering projects per company's templates and guidelines Ensure accurate correlation of the prioritized backlog with project deliverables and milestones Inform stakeholders about potential conflicts of schedules and/ or priorities and associated risks Monitor and/ or coordinate efforts for mitigation of project risks and conflicts and make appropriate adjustments to project plans and schedules Facilitate estimation efforts and plans/ schedules reviews and approvals Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects Qualifications: BS degree in a technical, business or management discipline and minimum 3+ years of project planning experience Advanced knowledge of project planning software (ie MS Project) Good understanding of project management practices is a plus Ability to work in a very fast pace dynamic environment with frequent adjustments to priorities and time to meet the needs of the organization Effective communication skills, ability to articulate clearly and concise
