A Construction Project Manager career opportunity is available with a large, family owned steel fabrication company in York, PA to guide projects through the 5 stages: Initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. This position provides responsibility and accountability to deliver the results of a project in the context of agreed-upon customer expectations, commitments and constraints. Duties: Supervise and coordinate the overall process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for assigned project(s). Create and establish schedules that include preconstruction planning, submittals, engineering, and shop drawing creation, material procurement, and fabrication, shipping, erection, and closeout procedures. Work with contractors, trades, inspectors, engineers, detailers, superintendents, and foreman to ensure the project is successfully progressing Maintain positive client relationships and communicate effectively with all parties associated with the project Read specifications and blue prints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. Communicate and coordinate with other project contractors to maintain schedule, deliver of materials, and mitigate design conflicts. Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in steel construction; of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures Ability to understand and apply varying levels of mathematics as applicable to the position Issue corrective action notices to subcontractors, as required, to enforce company and/or project guidelines/policies. Document and maintain correspondence to ensure an organized paper trail. Qualifications: Construction or Engineering degree with minimum of 3-5 years' experience in construction project management preferred, knowledge/experience of steel fabrication/installation would be beneficial Good communication skills, organized, detail oriented, motivated and self-driven Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license for daily & occasional overnight travel; ability to work occasional weekend hours Possess tools to field measure, verify, and audit basic conformity standards. Knowledge of applicable and proper use for the following: transit, laser lever, torpedo, torque guns, welders, gas supplied equipment, rigging and components Microsoft Word and Excel +scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera) Knowledge of Tekla and Fabtrol is not required but a plus Please send your resume to: [Click Here to Email Your Resume] for consideration.
