The Director, Financial Reporting will be responsible for overseeing all external and internal reporting and analysis for the Company. This individual will develop and establish current and long-range strategic plans and objectives for the preparation and review of internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, along with related Board and Management Committee documents and presentations. The Director, Financial Reporting will lead analysis and support for complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, leases, income taxes, etc. This individual will direct the tracking of technical issues from identification to resolution and documentation. Additional responsibilities include the preparation and review of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 testing for the entire company and the coordination of approximately 30+ statutory audits. The Director will design, establish and implement new systems and processes necessary to meet all financial reporting, technical account and compliance requirements for the Company. He/she will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including external auditors and legal advisors to ensure Intelsat is aware of, and in compliance with the latest reporting requirements. Critical Responsibilities: Direct and lead technical accounting policy and research Oversee preparation and ensure the accuracy of the following reports: - Quarterly Reports to SEC - Annual Reports to SEC - Other SEC filings - Various statutory audits and regulatory filings in foreign jurisdictions - Monthly financial repots to executive management and the Board of Directors - Preparation and suppot of financial information included in any registration statements - Special purpose reports as needed Oversee the PMO role for SOX 404 migration and testing company-wide. Develop project plan and coordination of approximately 30 statutory audits. Ability to direct and guide others within the financial reporting department. Assist Investor Relations Department with press releases, earnings statements, and other relevant corporate communications, as applicable. Remain current with US GAAP pronouncements and SEC regulations and how they relate to company activities, researching accounting in order to propose appropriate treatment. Advise management of the accounting and reporting implications of potential transactions such as acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures and other business arrangements. Oversee the implementation of new reporting standards in compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. Develop accounting policies and keep abreast of new financial and SEC reporting requirements, anticipating and articulating implications to the Company. Monitor and enhance the procedures related to the external reporting process to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. Minimum Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field from an accredited university, with at least ten or more years of demonstrated financial reporting, technical and/or accounting experience. Must have a thorough working knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, SEC and other accounting and reporting standards. CPA certification required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have excellent organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to manage multiple commitments and meet deadlines. Previous management experience required. Must have the ability to at times work long hours and weekends in order to meet various critical deadlines. Preferred Requirements: 5+ years of experience with a national public accounting firm preferred. 15 or more years of exepereince preferred.
