This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of risk processes that provide an early warning of events or conditions that may impair the performance of the business. We are seeking a business solution oriented individual to provide strategic recommendations to improve capital efficiency and enhance returns. Duties and Responsibilities Will provide risk modeling and other critical analysis for significant potential emerging risks, extreme events, and capital management threats. Expected to recommend controls and /or early warning indicators to mitigate exposure.Provide evaluation of inherent and emerging risks by examining, assessing and determining reasonableness of financial and operational models used in the evaluation of product pricing strategies, new product assessment, inforce reviews, underwriting and reinsurance reviews.Assists with determining the appropriate allocation of surplus across product lines to determine accurate rates of return and development of appropriate strategic corporate objectives.Collaborate with the actuarial modeling team to design and implement production process to perform scenario analysis including stress testing, sensitivity and worst case to assess asset and liability portfolio exposure of risk tolerances associated with our risk appetite statement which provides accurate reporting for input into risk/reward decision making. Also responsible for collaboration on design and implementation of economic capital and stochastic models across all lines of business that define risk profiles and aggregated exposures.Evaluate reinsurance programs including retention levels, net claims costs, and any potential new reinsurance programs. Conduct targeted risk focused assessments of the impact of mortality including catastrophic and pandemic analysis, longevity, and persistency. Develop and prepare liability risk dashboards and surveillance reports for board meetings, presentations and key company reports. Recommend risk avoidance strategies, risk mitigation actions and controls for lines of business and functions. Implement mitigation strategies for the risks identified and accepted and remediate reported gaps in accordance with company guidelines and timeframes. Monitor industry developments and "ERM Best Practices" and recommend process improvements as appropriate. Candidate ProfileBachelors or Masters Degree in Actuarial Science or Mathematics from an accredited institution Eight to ten years of experience in complex life and annuity insurance modeling including scenario and economic capital calculations FSA preferred Knowledge of or exposure to ORSA Work experience using research methods to identify areas of risk or exposure and proper measurement and reporting techniques Skills and Abilities Self-starter who demonstrates a strong initiative and displays a high energy levelAbility to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with a results-driven focusStrong problem-solving skills that include advanced analytical, modeling and reasoning abilitiesAbility to establish and maintain strong relationshipsStrong public speaking and presentation skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong leadership skillsProficient in MS Office and actuarial modeling systems#LI-RB1
