Entertain visitors while educating them about our historical city! You've seen the Duck Tours on the street and in the water and probably thought, 'What a fun job that must be.' Well, you're absolutely right! For more than a quarter of a century, Old Town Trolley Tours and The DC Duck tours have been treating guests to a journey back in time while touring the most interesting and popular attractions in the city. Come join the ranks of the FUN-employed on The DC Duck Tours. We are now holding interviews for our PAID training class. We have a very extensive PAID training program that will thoroughly prepare you to be a professional tour conductor! Full Time, Part Time and Seasonal Positions Already having a CDL Class B is a plus, but not required because we'll train you and prepare you to test for one! Job Summary Our ideal Duck Tour Captains have a passion for helping people and making their vacation experience a memorable one. A sincere love of history and the culture of our city is ideal. The Duck Captain's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Drive in a safe, competent manner a non-air-conditioned amphibious vehicle that is up to 40 feet in length on busy public streets and in busy waterways while narrating a scripted sightseeing tour of approximately 90 minutes. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must perform and participate in required Coast Guard training and emergency drills to ensure a safe tour for our guests.Must be able to board and exit the amphibious vehicle and assist patrons boarding and exiting the amphibious vehicle.Shall be able to read, write and speak fluent English in order to communicate with fellow CASTmembers, the general public, law enforcement and emergency personnel.Ability to sit for long periods of time, climb stairs multiple times each day, lift up to 50 pounds and tolerate a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.QualificationsValid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.Will provide training to acquire a Class C or higher CDL with passenger endorsement.Valid 100 ton Captain's license preferred, 25 ton Captain's license requiredMust pass a DOT physical upon employment.Must pass a CPR/ First Aid training course provided by employer.CASTmember BenefitsAll FT Employees are eligible for: Two weeks paid Vacation the first year, Well-Pay, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short and Long Term DisabilityAll FT & PT employees are eligible for: 401K, Sick Time and Safety BonusesFlexible schedules including a combination of weekdays and weekendsExcellent tipsFun, upbeat work environmentDiscounts in retail stores and free tickets to our company attractionsSuccessful candidate must pass a drug test and a background search.#CB This position is currently accepting applications.
