SGT is looking to hire an Application / Database Developer in support of the Cybersecurity Services and Integration Division (CSID) for the NASA Goddard IT Integration and Support Services (GITISS) contract in Greenbelt, MD. On our team of integrated, mission-focused personnel, you'll work side-by-side with our NASA customers to meet their evolving needs and tackle the exciting challenges that come with supporting NASA, the number one place to work in the Federal Government. Individual must meet government NAC-I and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a pre-requisite of the job. A secret clearance will be required as the Center migrates to holding classified IT security meetings. The ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance is required. Responsibilities In this position, you will support to CSID for data management, SharePoint expertise and development, technical process modernization, and improvements to customer interface points. More specifically, you will perform the following functions: Application Development: Design, code, and test applications to serve CSID. Design, code and test using SDLC methodology or Agile/SCRUM. Provide support for existing applications and systems Perform COTS application assessment and implementation Execute and complete unit testing on issues and projects prior to engaging business users for testing Application Maintenance: Perform maintenance, fix bugs, etc. Perform software maintenance and bug fixes Develop, diagram, and document technical design and requirements Data Management: Design and develop databases, tables, workflows, stored procedures, etc. SharePoint: Build and execute against plan for all of SharePoint. Process Improvement: Partake in technical exchanges with customers and internal staff to improve practices. Work with business partners to investigate and evaluate current processes and understand new or changing requirements Collaborate to establish best practices, quality standards, release management and knowledge sharing Provide customer friendly improvements that focus on making customer interface points simple and easy to use. Customer Interface Points: Create customer friendly approach to the above. Design and develop interface (and data transformation) programs connecting disparate systems Design and develop User Interfaces Design and develop databases, tables, workflows, and stored procedures Demonstrated competency in Computer Science Understanding of software design and development principles, including preferably C#, ASP.Net, ASP.Net MVC, Web Services (SOAP), Web API (REST), Visual Studio, AngularJS framework, and Entity Framework. Understanding of Database design with knowledge of SQL Server 2008 and 2012 Understanding web application and design concepts Ability to use version control tools such as Visual SourceSafe, SubVersion, or Git Ability to use QA methodology, tool sets, and development of testing strategy Ability to learn and apply SharePoint development skills, Windows Workflows, ServiceNow, and other Workflow related tools. The task will require extensive knowledge of the NASA services, Code 700 Engineering and Security policies and practices in support of mission-critical systems, and GSFC/WFF Infrastructure architectures. This task will also require working with the NASA I3P contractors and interfacing and using ITIL processes. Proven track record of effective teamwork skills and demonstrated strong written and verbal communications skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 7-10 years' experience. Advanced technical degree desirable. Desired experience: Scrum, or other agile project management methodology; federal government IT; software development; database design or administration.
