Asst. Bookkeeper needed for a Mechanical/Development company located in Baltimore, MD. Candidate must possess the following: 1. Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience in the construction industry with an understanding of construction contracts and terminology, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, and benefit administration. 2. Timberline/Sage Construction experience. 3. Some college preferred. 4. Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail. 5. Above average problem-solving and time management skills. 6. Must be self-motivated - this is a busy position that requires lots of communication with vendors, contractors, and other departments. 7. Superior verbal and written communication skills. 8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Timberline/Sage. 9. Works well under tight deadlines while still maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity. 10. Must have a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The Asst. Bookkeeper will be responsible for the following: a. Perform Bank Reconcilations. b. Cash Management c. Prepare and process journal entries d. Manage all month end, quarterly, and year-end activities. e. Prepare all IRA deposits. f. Reconciliation of Accounts and Vendor statements g. Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities h. Provide timely financial and company performance data i. AIA Contract Billing and Service Ticket Work for Client Billing j. Creating Partial and Final Waivers for Subcontractor Payments k. Preparing and printing of all Vendor, Subcontractor, Employee reimbursement checks l. Administer workers compensation, liability, and auto insurance. m. Maintain the safety program.. n.
