We area a privately held mid-tier company with customers spanning the Federal Civilian, DoD, and Intelligence Communities.We are seeking a temporary Accounting Manager for our corporate office in Vienna, VA. This position will oversee the day-to-day Accounting Operation for 850 employees to include the following:Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure that there is a redundant process backup in place for every critical operation.Serve as a backup for Payroll accountant. Import Timesheets into GCS, reconcile GCS with ADP. Process Payroll on a bimonthly basis. Respond to Leave and Payroll questions.Review of timesheets, computing pay in accordance with FLSA, computing overtime,Service Contract Act (SCA) and Davis-Bacon Act (DBA), PTO, etc.Provide appropriate training, review and back up to staff.Reconcile all payroll liabilities to the general ledger, investigate and resolve discrepancies and prepare monthly payroll accrual entries. Respond to all state/federal tax notices in a timely manner.Complete all quarterly payroll tax reconciliations (including 941's, FUTA, and SUTA), and annual W-2 filings.Review and ensure timely reporting of all payroll withholding tax payments and reporting requirements to appropriate agencies/states. Respond to external auditor & employee inquiries regarding payroll and timekeeping.Special projects as needed, including but not limited to payroll and timekeeping system maintenance, testing and upgrades.Document procedures, identify areas to improve internal controls and gain additional efficiencies, and recommend policy and process change (as needed).Enforce established payroll related policies, procedures and regulations and adherence to Company and governmental policies.Review, approve and post Accounts Payable invoices, expense reports and manual checks.Set up new banking and EFT accounts information for employee reimbursements.Prepare bank reconciliationsFile monthly and quarterly Sales and Use TaxDownload VISA transactions and import into GCS.Manage AP and EFT check run.Assist AP specialist with charge codes and vendor reconciliations.Enter or review Cash Receipts and AR invoices.Prepare GL Reconciliations.Prepare GWAC/IFF quarterly report and GWAC Subcontract Reporting.Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.A minimum of eight (8) years of in-house payroll experience, including three years of supervisory. Experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.Clear and effective communication skills (Written/Verbal).Extensive knowledge of current payroll policies and procedures to include the Fair Labor Standards Act, federal and state tax regulations, tax reporting requirements and year-end W-2 processing.Must be a self-starter, have advanced knowledge of accounting, systems and problem-solving skills.Strong analytical and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal departments and employees.Computer proficiency including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.Experience with ADP, Unanet, Deltek GCS and Deltek Time & Expense preferred.Find Us on Facebook!!Beacon Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values the strength diversity brings to the workplace.
