RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS Dining Room Manager The Fox Hill Dining Room Manager is responsible for all aspects of the front of house dining operations and staff for an upscale, exclusive, independent senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess, at a minimum, the following key attributes: A calm and unflappable demeanorMust be committed to achieving outstanding, 5-Star service from every front of house team member A passive ego that allows a guest to vent without escalating the situation but rather, solving the problem to the guest's satisfaction and beyondAn entrepreneurial spirit: fuse the goals of the owner and operator to be one in the sameThe ability to motivate and coach team members and help them develop to the next level of successPossesses a strong command of the English language, both written and verbal Strong managerial skills and ability to work in a multicultural environmentGood working knowledge of computer hardware and software systems with the ability to learn new systems quicklyPresentable and professional demeanor that exudes confidence, integrity and trustworthinessBe willing to jump in and assist with various roles as needed Responsibilities: Customer ServiceEnsure each Independent Living resident and all guests experience 5-Star service while dining at Fox HillOwn and resolve resident and guest inquiries to their satisfaction and consistent with Fox Hill's 5-Star service planThe ability to remember names and faces of residents and regular guests. Strive to always greet them by name and offer a genuine, warm greeting and farewellSchedulingEnsure schedules that meet the community's business needs and needs of residentsCreate schedules for front of house staff using On-Shift scheduling systemManage (approve and deny) time-off requests in accordance with Sunrise and community standardsEmploymentUse applicant tracking system to recruit and manage applicantsInterview prospective candidatesCoaches and counsels team members in accordance with Sunrise standards and Fox Hill's 5-Star Service PlanHire and supervise front of house dining team members according to Sunrise and Fox Hill standardsTrain dining team members on menus, wine, etiquette, etc. to ensure a fine dining experience for our residents and guestsEvent PlanningOversee preparation of event spaces before residents and guests arrive, and maintain cleanliness during events.Schedules events, books rooms and coordinates staff to work eventsCoordinates resident and guest table assignments in the main dining room(s) plus reservations systemHands-on leader for all the dining service events and activitiesComplying with regulatory and sanitation standards and ensuring accordance with Sunrise menu programsMaintain ambience of restaurant (music, noise, lighting, cleanliness, etc.)Check in on and recognize special occasions for all diners InventoryEnsures that a full inventory and consumption record is maintained Managing and ordering the liquor inventory and supply budget Qualifications: Previous experience in managing and motivating dining service team members in an upscale, high quality dining environment (hotel, restaurant, country club) is required4 year college degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management or formal hospitality training a plusMust have solid knowledge of wine service and nuanced knowledge of menus to advice guest who may have restrictive diets or other requests Bar management, banquet, and catering experience requiredHandle multiple priorities - Possess excellent English written and verbal skills for effective communication with seniors and an affluent clientele - Be competent in organizational, time management skills - Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Point-of-Service systems, and the ability to learn new applications - The ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings and a flexible work schedule Sunrise maintains a drug-free work environment and all offers of employment with Sunrise are conditioned on submitting to and successfully completing and passing a drug and alcohol test.
