Plan, coordinate, direct, review and supervise the work of subordinates in counseling of VA and conventional first mortgage loans. Review mortgage loan conditions submitted to Underwriting and confirm that members and other parties involved in the loan transaction are kept informed of the loan status. Ensure the integrity of loan data entered and maintained in UNIFI. Focus on marketing of Navy Federal Credit Union to area lending territory.Responsibilities:* Conduct ongoing training for team members; coach, evaluate, inform and provide corrective guidance* Collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments* Ensure origination, referral, conversion, member service and loan quality goals for the assigned area* Coach sales behavior to drive referrals and new business for the credit union* Prepare loan activity reports* Seek and leverage opportunities to conduct outside marketing and promotional activities to members and potential members through financial presentations, local events and realtor/trade shows and events* Involved in marketing efforts, including building internal and external liaisons to develop new business opportunities* Deliver presentations on NFCU mortgage including Homebuyers Seminars* Provide timely updates to staff on systems, programs and regulation changes* Perform supervisory/managerial responsibilitieso Ensure adequate/skilled staffing; select employeeso Establish performance goals and prioritieso Prepare, conduct and review performance appraisalso Develop, mentor and counsel staffo Provide input and/or prepare budget requirements for Annual Financial Plan (AFP)o Ensure section/branch goals and objectives align with division/department strategyo Ensure efficiency of operations* Performs other duties as required and appropriateQualifications - All required unless otherwise noted:If selected, will be required, prior to the assumption of employment duties, to register with the Nationwide MortgageLicensing System and Registry; includes fingerprinting and background checks* Advanced knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA loans & RESPA guidelines* Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal mortgage products, services, programs, policies and procedures* Significant experience working in a high volume, fast paced environment* Effective skill to successfully influence, lead and/or guide others towards goals* Significant experience in leading, guiding and mentoring others* Effective verbal and written communication skills* Effective skill interacting with staff, management, vendors and members diplomatically and tactfully* Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions* Ability to interpret and apply regulations, instructions and procedures* Effective skill interpreting, applying and explaining written and oral regulations, instructions, products and procedures in English* Effective skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines* Effective organizational, planning and time management skills* Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills* Ability to build long term networking relationships fostering real estate lending business* Ability to travel, scheduled or unscheduled, to lending area, including remotes* Desired - Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and proceduresHours:Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pmOccasional Weekends, OT as neededEqual Employment OpportunityNavy Federal values, celebrates, and enacts diversity in the workplace.
