District Sales Manager
Manage all aspects of the company's agency management and sales operations to achieve growth and profit objectives for the assigned district. 1. Manage the production, profitability and relationships with Territory Managers and agencies in the assigned district. 2. Effectively design, implement and manage district production plans and state execution plans to meet growth and profit objectives for all property and casualty, and life insurance goals. 3. In coordination with business unit partners, drive the development and execution of product line (Personal, Commercial, Life) strategies and tactics. 4. Champion the development and usage of sales processes, tools and programs. 5. Direct the appointment and training of new agents within assigned district by Territory Managers and manage production and profitability for existing representation. 6. Assist in the development and administration of agency business plans and agency action plans to assure successful district performance. 7. Coordinate field input and make recommendations for the development of rate levels, underwriting philosophy, competitor intelligence, and product development. 8. Manage, train, motivate, and develop direct reports to attain their maximum performance potential. 9. Responsible for assisting with the establishment and maintenance of relationships with industry trade associations and state regulators. 10. Coordinate follow through on District activities and agent programs (Roadshows, Agency Benefit issues, etc). 11. Support and participate in sales and marketing initiatives impacting all territories. 12. Participate in goal setting, performance appraisals, and salary administration for all direct reports. 13. Manage operational expenses to assure maximum profit for the companies. 14. Maintain a regular exchange of information with personnel throughout the company. 15. Provide assistance with resolution of agency problems and territory management advice to other Territory Managers. 16. Act as Project Coordinator in a variety of areas where needed including Territory Manager training, data analysis and reporting, and new appointment activity Requirements Bachelor's degree plus five years property/casualty experience or equivalent sales management experience preferred. Proven ability to work autonomously. Must have demonstrated communication and leadership skills. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and software applications. Prior management and market development experience desired. Required to reside within the assigned district of either Philadelphia, PA or Alexandria, VA area.
