POSITION OVERVIEW This Human Relations Solution Center Specialist supports and collaborates with North America business units providing consultative services and solutions to include organizing, directing and coordinating time and attendance, compensation & benefits, communications, and recognition query resolution for all stakeholders. This Specialist will also partner with the business units to help develop, evaluate and implement operating policies and procedural improvements that ensure effective and consistent query resolution. The HR Solution Center Specialist will stay abreast of and ensure adherence to federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES Responds and provides resolution to queries received by the Solutions Center from employees and managers. Query topics include: HR related questions for Time & Attendance, Compensation & Benefits, Communication, and Recognition programs. Serves as knowledge expert for initial contact with HR units, record-keepers, managers, employees and retirees; escalate problems to other centers of excellence in accordance with guidelines set forth by MPS NA. Explains and provides guidance to managers, supervisors and employees regarding policies and procedures. Ensures departmental compliance with McCormick policies and procedures as well as adherence to federal, state and local employment laws/regulations Develops standardized, customized departmental training material and delivers training as needed Participates in and represents MPS North America in various projects, including, but not limited to system upgrades and testing. Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED Demonstrated PC/software skills with word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and email applications Payroll systems experience (SAP or similar system) General knowledge of HR practices and laws (ie ADA, FMLA, etc) General knowledge of payroll guidelines Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels across an organization Strong administrative, organization, detail orientation and time management skills with a sense of urgency Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to identify a problem with minimal information, determine the cause, and develop solutions in a timely manner Ability to promptly address customers' needs and solicit feedback to improve service Experience working with extreme confidentiality regarding sensitive information Demonstrated experience working effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment Professional maturity and demeanor Ability to be flexible and adaptable to business needs and schedule updates PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field Customer Service training and/or certification Minimum 3 years of Human Relations experience Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) Current McCormick employees who meet these qualifications and are interested in pursuing this position must notify their direct supervisor and their unit HR representative prior to applying.
