Mobility is the goal Lay out, install, alter, and repair all electronic circuits and controls on machine tools and plant equipment. Install, relocate, erect, and repair complex machine tools and plant equipment. Read and interpret drawings, plan, layout, and determine necessary tools, materials and equipment required. Obtain tools, materials and equipment necessary and return same upon completion of job. Must be able to work on advanced electro-hydraulic systems and be capable in the maintenance and repair of laser equipment. Electrical and Electronic: Plan, lay out, repair, and perform complete installation and assist Engineering or vendor in the repair or modify complex machine tools and plant equipment consisting of AC and DC power supplies, AC and DC motor speed controls, mig, stud and spot welders and controls, radio controlled wire guide systems, SCR and pulse-width modulation motor drive systems, computer controlled gauging systems, programmable logic controllers, robotics control systems, computerized numerical control systems, DNC communications systems and buffers, and fiber optics data systems. Check out controls and equipment after installation or alteration, and diagnose and repair any malfunctions. Mechanical: Assist Engineering and/or vendor in the installation, relocation and erection of all complex machine tools and plant equipment, such as, but not limited to, computerized numerical controlled machines, automatic punch presses, machining centers, and robots. Check alignment and level of interrelated components and adjust as required. Perform complete repair, overhaul, reconditioning, and alterations. Reassemble all complex machine tools and plant equipment described above including hydraulic, pneumatic and refrigeration systems. Clean up areas after completion of job. Perform other related work as assigned. Check quality of material and workmanship and verify conformance to Standards. Perform preventive maintenance as required. Maintain required records and documents. Equivalent to complete accredited apprenticeship in a recognized trade or two year technical college education. Welding certified, successful completion of FMS training (12 months from accepting the position), and successfully complete written and practical assessment of required skills.
