Both plants are in Hunt Valley MD. The HR Generalist will dually report to the FMC's HR Business Partner and the SM's HR Business Partner II. POSITION OVERVIEW: This HR Generalist II is responsible for representing the Human Relations function and supporting two manufacturing plants with minimum supervision. The HR Generalist will consult with Business Partners and other HR colleagues to identify business and/or people concerns and work together to develop solutions. This new hire will achieve employee and management satisfaction through the direction, development and implementation of effective employee relations, recruiting and selection processes and training programs. RESPONSIBILITIES: Leading non-exempt recruitment and selection activities. Leading the exempt and non-exempt annual merit and appraisal process. Providing counsel to managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues, and interpreting employment laws and company policies and procedures. Advising supervisors with regard to disciplinary action, company policies, procedures, and practices. Working closely with managers and employees at all levels to initiate employee development programs and provide individual development and career counseling. Participates in and/or facilitates talent management activities and reviews. Providing insight, leadership and support for short-term and long-term workforce planning using data driven analysis. Interacting daily with employees in assigned areas of responsibility to answer questions and facilitate issue resolution, improve employee engagement and maintain the visibility of the HR function. Leading HR process improvement initiatives and special projects and/or training initiatives from start to finish. Leading and coordinating all necessary activities related to site audits and compliance requirements Leading and documenting the leave management interactive process to include: ADA, workers compensations, unemployment, FMLA, STD and LTD processes. Leading and championing event management as well as rewards and recognition programs. Managing and reporting on HR data. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or other related field Minimum of 2 years Human Resources experience with solid employee relations and data analytics experience Experience with compensation and benefits administration Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple, complex administrative processes and projects Ability to develop rapport at all levels of the organization and work toward an identified goal in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with a proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Highly-motivated, customer oriented approach with strong problem-solving, technical and analytical abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP (preferably SAP) Ability to work flexible days and hours across multiple sites and three shifts to meet business demands PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: PHR/SPHR/GPHR certification Experience successfully leading and developing others Demonstrated ability to influence change McCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
