Edgewood Management is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician in Washington, DC! The maintenance technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance of the apartment community, but not limited to the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC & carpentry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned. Skills and abilities normally associated with completion of high school or GED equivalency. Knowledge of general property management and maintenance. Knowledge of maintenance programs gained through formal education or on-the-job training preferred. CFC Certification, general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, appliance and/or HVAC required. May be required to work overtime, work outside, travel, be on-call or be available for emergency situations including weekends and holidays. Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Attention to detail and good mathematic skills. Ability to work well with others and foster an environment of team work. Manual dexterity and coordination needed to operate hand and power tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance and a physical examination will be required. May be required to have a valid driver's license and a good driving record Requirements: The successful Maintenance Technician will have the following qualifications: Reliable Transportation A MUST 2+ years Apartment Maintenance and Repair Experience Must have ability to think independently HVAC experience A MUST Electrical/ Plumbing/ Drywall & Painting/ General Carpentry Communicate Effectively in person& in writing Ability to handle multiple task Edgewood prides itself on offering a competitive salary and extensive, market-competitive health and welfare BENEFITS.
