Come share your talents with one of the nations' fastest-growing, multi-million dollar organizations.The purpose of this job is to manage the Catering Operations including Banquet and Coffee Service, maintaining established costs and quality standards so as to ensure superior service and maximize profits. Manages the associates in the catering department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the catered functions. Will act as a Liaison with other departments within the location - for example facilities, P&R cleaners, engineers, security etc. Key Responsibilities: * Will train, lead & inspect the performance of assigned banquet staff to provide highest levels of quality serviceWork directly with the Food Service Director to ensure all catering menu proposals are presented to the client accurately & effectively* Work with the service staff to see that message handling with administrative support is efficiently handled and placed in the computer based system immediately* Work closely with the additional departments to ensure room set-ups, and all needs and special requests* Ensure that all appropriate communication for upcoming business is complete and distributed in a timely manner to the management team* Hires and schedules catering associates and is actively involved in the development of existing associates in service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures* Menu development and marketing functions as they relate to the catering department* Performs related duties and special projects as assigned* Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in adherence to company food standards for preparation, presentation, sanitation and safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines) and portion control.* Ensures timely meal service to all service areas. Supervises serving of meals. Responds to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint or via e-mail for electronically received complaints.* Utilize company systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/time-keeping, etc.* Orders food and other supplies from the approved sources.Preferred Qualifications:* Bachelors degree is preferred or equivalent professional experience* Strong knowledge of current food, industry trends and fine dining points of service* A minimum of 4 -6 years of experience in hospitality industry including 2 years of management experience* Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills* Ability to assess client requirements and deliver ensuring client satisfaction* Prepare and monitor budgets; financial targets and forecasts* Must be able to write menu proposals in consultation with chefs* Maintain local clients database and build and maintain relationship with vendors* The ability to supervise food preparation, service and clean up is also essential* Superior quantitative, oral and written communications and problem-solving/strategizing skills* Excellent leadership and organizational skills, flexible and adaptable to constant changes and must possess attention to detail* Excellent overall computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint* Proactive mindset and able to remain calm under pressure to anticipate and support changes in our business.* Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior* Exceptional client relations and customer service abilities* Ensure all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in compliance with HACCP* Experience in dealing with an international customer base and extensive exposure and comprehension of international protocol. Ability to develop cooperative and strong relationships with the diversified clientele. * A mindset to take ownership and responsibility within and outside one's job domain.
